Carrie Curran Art Studios is a labor of love for Carrie and her daughter Maggie. Both are accomplished artists, believing that sharing their creative experience and playing a part in the local art community is one of the highlights of being artists. They are passionate and enthusiastic teachers, and neither can imagine doing anything else!
Carrie has over 25 yrs experience as a fine artist, teacher, and local business owner, committed to giving back. She opened Carrie Curran Art Studios in 2010, after developing the youth program at the prestigious Scottsdale Artists School, and devoting her time and experience as a docent at the Phoenix Art Museum. Many of the artists who have studied under Carrie’s program now teach at the studio and elsewhere. Carrie’s paintings are collected internationally, and she is currently the artist in residence at The Hermosa Inn in Paradise Valley, AZ.
Maggie Curran completed her fine arts education at NAU, and joined her mother at the Studio after working in Interior Design and Architecture. Maggie is a talented painter, bringing a fresh approach and vision to the studio and its curriculum. Maggie loves kids and is especially committed to the after school and summer program offerings for children.
Carrie and Maggie’s story goes back another generation, to Carrie’s mother, Gladys Oberlin, who was also an extraordinary artist and incredible teacher! A class at Carrie Curran Art Studios provides a wonderful opportunity to work with Carrie, Maggie, and other local artists in a beautifully creative space. We can’t wait to share their rich history with you!
